I love variations on the Firebird tale in any form, so I was thrilled to pick this up. Pelaam delivered a well-written, sensual story that went beyond my expectations. It was an unusual take on one of my favorite fairy tales. There were some interesting surprises in the story. This was a very complex world for such a short tale. The author did a superb job of creating mood and setting without a lot of information dumping and back story. Everything unfolded naturally through the narrative and dialog. All in all, this was a beautiful, elegant story, and it held me under its spell from start to finish.

This is not a pretty tale, or a sweet romance, but I got caught up in wanting so much for Cassian and Arturri to be safe. The flying scene in the epilogue was beautiful and the few love scenes between the two men were sensual and hot. Highly recommended.

I’ve read a lot of fantasy, but Pelaam in Firebird managed to come up with an interesting twist, The Firebird of the title exists in a mostly modern world with planes and guns and space travel. Without giving too much away, the two MCs get together, even though Cassian initially is hunting the Firebird Arturri. Their different species do not stop the two from having hot sex until Cassian has to leave and Arturri gets captured. Both the MCs escape, although not without complications. Fortunately, the story has a happy ending for the good guys and at least one bad guy gets his just desserts. Couldn’t read this quickly enough and now I want more in this world!

Firebird embarks on a fanciful, sensual journey with intense drama along the way. Clever twists and turns add excitement to this tale as well. More than it seems at the start, Firebird is a romantic, exhilarating adventure.

I enjoyed the adventurous nature of this story. The world building was inventive and complex enough to keep my attention. Cassian and Arturri’s attraction was sensual, yet not too much so that it took away from their strength.

Firebird known as Aturri touched something in me, this majestic being from another place that literally came to the land of man along with his family who by the way are scientist for the sake of science.
What he did not count on was his bait Cassian and Arturri falling in love. Together with the aid of others the bonds of oppression are broken. New unfamiliar bonds are created.

This story is an interesting mix between science fiction and historical. If you like reading about adventures, dangerous situations, and rescues that keep you on the edge of your seat, if you enjoy stories about advanced aliens having to deal with more primitive cultures, and if you're looking for a read with as much adventure as love between the main characters, you will probably like this book.

Firebird is a touching romance interspersed with some vicious events. Pelaam has created an impressive short saga that I very much enjoyed.

At first glance Firebird has the appearance of historical like fantasy world. There’s a little more going on that kind of gave me a futuristic almost sci fi impression. I enjoy something vastly different on occasion and Pelaam delivered just that with Firebird. There are times when the circumstances they find themselves in seem dire and seemingly hopeless.

Firebird was a very different read for me. The cover fascinated me. It wasn’t a shifter book like I first thought, it was more old world meets sci-fi. The author did a fantastic job in making it very easy for me read and understand. This book has a fantastic storyline with a good plot that captured me very early on. I would love to read more about the Firebirds, the author just scratched the surface, I want to learn more.
