  Review by Love Bytes

The entire story is filled with all the ups and downs of any normal new relationship, then you have the added complication of being a famous, gay rugby player and the realization that just because people don’t say anything it doesn’t mean they accept you. Thankfully, with the help of his friends, Iestyn decides to fight for his right to love. I would definitely recommend this book to all rugby loving, romance lovers!

The story is absolutely filled with a range of emotion. I laughed, smiled, cried, got irritated and then got angry – I also feared that the story could not be contained within the two hundred-odd pages. The story is well paced, though two-thirds in I thought that Dan and Iestyn were ready for a happily ever after until Alexa Milne trips us up and gives us another brief roller coaster of drama.

How the two men finally get their chance to finally have their happily ever after is a beautiful journey that was both heartbreaking and sweet. This, I cannot but help love and recommend to all romance lovers - especailly those who love the sport.

I rooted for Iessie and Dan. I needed them to find their way back to each other. I needed them to have their HEA.

The chemistry between Iestyn and Dan is strong and I loved seeing them together; however, their relationship is not an easy one.  Although both men are out, they receive a lot of flack from others, which ends up affecting both their careers.  The problems that come their way make Iestyn’s fears regarding starting a relationship with Dan understandable.  I really felt for the men. Once again it is up to friends to help the men find their way. I loved the way the author brings them back together, as well as how the story was wrapped up. All in all, Sporting Chance was a good book and I am glad I had the chance to read it.

I thought the author had a great feel for characters and dialogue. It’s a slow burn romance as the men get to know each other and fall in love. I thought the MC’s had great chemistry together and I enjoyed the friendships they had with others as well as Iestyn’s family dynamics quite a bit. All in all this was a read I enjoyed.
