Passionate sex and stormy emotions combine to make The Butcher and the Beast a heartfelt and seductive story. I thought I would go crazy with the need to see Grey submit to John. Their transition from captive and captor to willing and eager partners is well done. The Butcher and the Beast is fun, romantic and sexy. I loved John’s aggressiveness, and Grey’s hesitance makes his eventual submission that much hotter! The treasure that Grey and John find on the high seas is more valuable than gold!

Pirate fantasies are fulfilled with this growly Sean Michael book. The sex in here is as expected from a Mr. Michaels book. It's deliciously raw and filled with primal grunting. The chemistry between the two main characters is what makes this story fun to read. The constant denials and then lusty mating make for a good emotional tug-of-war. The story is absolutely ridiculous and hilarious. But I feel no guilt in saying I highly enjoyed it. I found myself liking both characters with no real clue why. There is no real history on either of them. John is not a nice man and is very upfront about it. Stephen is almost a complete innocent. But it works in true bodice ripper fashion. If you are looking for some deep meaning in your story, this is not it. On the other hand if you are looking for something that will give you a good laugh and high sex content this should definitely do it.

If you like stories with lots of physical activity that goes from somewhat forced kisses to full-out bedplay, if two men from different worlds discovering they are not so different after all sound interesting, and if you’re looking for a read that is closer to fantasy than reality, entertaining, and very hot, then you will probably like this novella.
