One hot summer. Two horny men. It doesn't take a calculus teacher to do this math.
In an effort to get over his ex, high school calculus teacher, Austin Beckham, decides to work on a long-awaited house project to pass the time of summer vacation. Problem, though, he has no clue how to build his dream deck.
Roman has worked in construction nearly his entire life and wanted a change after his father caught him with another man in the construction trailer on a job site. So he takes a lower-paying job at the local hardware store.
What started out as a simple question from Austin turns into something more when he invites Roman to his place. Playboy Roman is good with his hands but how will he handle matters of the heart?

Damn deck. Austin Beckham jerked his hand away from the wood in slight pain. A small piece of splintered wood stuck out of his skin, hurting like a bitch. He groaned and popped the splinter out of his skin, flicking it to the side. Why on earth did he let his sister talk him into building this stupid thing? He sucked at the skin where the splinter had been. He’d been working on the stupid thing nearly all summer and had barely gotten the joists up. Becky said this would be easy. Whatever possessed me enough to think I could do something like this?
He groaned. Oliver was the reason. He’d gone one whole hour that day without thinking about his ex-lover, Oliver, and his new pal, Ethan. Or better yet, make that his employer, Oliver Dudley, and his co-worker, Ethan Miller.
Having worked for Taylorsville High School for nearly all his teaching career, he hadn’t planned on switching jobs or finding a new one when he’d discovered their little union. Austin loved what he did. He couldn’t help that Oliver just so happened to be the principal and Ethan, well, he was the anatomy teacher. He was probably just giving Ollie an anatomy lesson.
Austin snorted and tossed the hammer aside. Becky had only been trying to help take his mind off things when she’d suggested he build the damn deck. He had the complete fucking summer to himself and not one damn thing to do. So let’s go build a deck! He was less than enthusiastic about it but what the hell, right? It was something he wanted, and it wouldn’t build itself.
But he was no handyman. Austin flopped down on the grass and closed his eyes as the sun beat down on him. Give him anything to do with mathematics and he could solve it in a flash. Building things... That was another story.
I don’t need a damn deck. I need a good fuck. God, how long had it been since he’d taken a lover in his bed? He snorted and reached for his water bottle. Too damn long, he was certain. Oliver only liked to do certain things and most of those things weren’t what Austin needed. Oliver liked oral sex performed on him, but when the time came to reciprocate, nada. They’d never done anal. Handjobs were about as good as it got, but even that hadn’t been all that great.
So why was he crying over it? Austin stared out into the field behind his house. Why did he care what Oliver did? It wasn’t like he loved the guy. Yeah, sure, it hurt to be rejected, but you cry over the ones you love.
Austin wiped the sweat from his eyes. Maybe he did love him. He didn’t know why, but there was something there keeping his mind on the situation no matter how hard he tried to forget. And the damn deck wasn’t helping.
“I need a fucking break.” He stood and grabbed his T-shirt off the ground beside him.
Ten minutes later, Austin found himself in the hardware store looking for a new pair of leather work gloves. They had every colour a guy—or girl—could ask for. He picked up a grey and blue pair. They looked as good as any. Maybe they’d keep the damn splinters from poking into his skin.
“Right here, ma’am.” Austin turned his head to see a man lead a woman into the aisle across the way, assisting her in choosing deck stain. “We have an assortment. It just depends on what your preference and needs are.”
Austin stared a moment, taking in the man’s backside. He wore jeans that moulded to his long legs and tight ass. A navy T-shirt covered hard muscles, defining his biceps. Austin’s eyes lingered all the way down to the man’s camel-coloured construction boots and back up to his silky dark brown hair. His cock twitched in his pants.
Lexie's love for writing began when she wrote her first play in fourth grade. With a big imagination and love for creating worlds, she wrote several more scripts that have placed first in contests.
