  Review by Inked Rainbow Reads

This was an interesting short little story about a man who has an abusive father that is only further incensed by the fact that his son is a cross dressing gay man. Throughout the story it show that to become comfortable with yourself all you have to do is take it one bit at a time. A great book about loving who you are.

This is not your typical shifter story. Raven is a different type of shifter. After being abused and persecuted by his non shifter father he seeks the haven. Fate has decided that Boss, his fated mate, is waiting for him. Bad guy makes play for good guy mate saves the day. The end was sweet—I want a follow up! Cute read that shows that sometimes the main character does not mythically become "fixed".

  Review by Love Bytes

Although this book is just a glimpse into Raven’s life, I felt like I’d known him all along. All the things he suffered at his father’s hands along with the psychological abuse were extremely heartbreaking. I was so happy to see Raven find people that accepted him as well as a bond with another that he never knew he could have.  The ending was very emotional and perfect. I recommend this book to anyone who likes M/M shifter fantasy.

A very enjoyable sweet read. Not your typical shifter book, yes there're Mates. No there is no sex. This is Raven and Bosses story I did enjoy this book, its about accepting yourself then other will accept you too. This author has a very unique writing style that draws you into the story and won't let go until you reach the end. I liked the fact that there was no sex in this book, Raven wasn't ready for anything until he accepts himself. I would love more from these guys

  Review by Sexy for Review

One Bit at a Time by Sydney Presley was a sensual story of acceptance and understanding. This was not a tale of sex but of explorations and the burning need to find oneself and be true to your inner beauty. Ms. Presley conveyed the message thoughtfully and with care. The book may have not contained sex but it was definitely sexy and sizzling.

This was really a sweet little story. There was no sex or anything like that. But it was about Raven finding acceptance and finding even more. He is gay, that is fine. He likes to wear women’s clothing that is fine too. There is nothing wrong with Raven and he comes to learn that. This was a good enjoyable read with a great message.

  Review by The Romance Reviews

Be prepared for a gut wrenching journey as you get caught up in Raven's search for himself. The emotional turmoil flows from the pages ensuring that the reader can relate to Raven and understand everything he is going through. The romance part of the story is a sweet, spirit lifting love that captures the heart. The characters are strong, compelling and draw the reader's attention from the very beginning. The fast paced, smooth flowing plot captivates readers with suspense, turmoil and romance with some tension-building excitement adding to the story when someone arrives to take Raven back home. I was completely caught up in this quick romance and while this story tugs at the heart with a feeling of sadness, it also cheers the heart with triumph and a delightful happily ever after.

For such a short story, One Bit at a Time packs quite a punch. I enjoy the happy ending. Sydney Presley has done a very good job with this book and I look forward to reading more from this author.

I liked very much Raven as a character, the fact that he stuck around for so long being abused to protect his siblings.   I’ll always been a sucker for the ‘woe is me’ one’s and he plays very well.  And Boss, is the perfect Alpha mate to complement Raven’s side he’s been hiding from.
