  Review by Inked Rainbow Reads

I loved the way Morticia Knight wrote these characters in this story and the book was just so beautiful and sweet! Even though there were some hard moments in this book for Evan he comes out of everything that has happened and being kicked when he was down so much stronger.

So I will leave this review with…. I 100% loved this book and would recommend this series!

This was actually a great thing, it’s been a long time since a book as brought such great emotion. I thoroughly enjoy how the previous charaters always rally around each other, giving comfort, guidance or a kick in the pants depending on what the situation needs. We get to see how these people grow, change, develop. In an era that really doesn’t allow for this type of behavior. And once again, Ms. knight does a brilliant job blending the 1920’s into the background so you feel like you're there but it’s not overpowering.

A subtle sensuality enflamed with eroticism and deep-rooted loved & desires. Mastering Love hit the high mark as Morticia Knight once again delivered a winner.

The writing was wonderful and I liked the original take on a historical 1920’s perspective especially for a M/M BDSM story.  The use of terminology and brands familiar to that time was well done, there were no gaps or confusing pieces of the story, and I felt connected to the main and supporting characters.  The empathy that everyone had for the submissives and their treatment was a palpable thing, which I also found refreshing.  They were not objectified and instead were very well cared for.  This is something that often is missing.  The sex was exciting, well written, and not clichéd.  If you are looking for an entertaining and engaging M/M BDSM book, I would highly suggest this author!

What a beautifully, erotic, and loving story that gives the reader a chance to imagine how BDSM relationships began before they were officially labelled, before the leather daddies, and before the grand surge of heterosexual influences. The plot was very well done, each character was delightfully and wondrously explored and delved into, from the main characters to the secondary characters. The settings were fresh and alive, described so vividly they were like a movie running across the screen of my mind. This can all be attributed to Ms Knight's writing style. The emotions the characters displayed were splashed across the words of the page in bright, emotionally, gripping colors. It was an amazing read and I can't wait to read every other book in this series.

Their story plays out in this character driven, expansive plotline.  Very descriptive the romance slowly unfolds.  A solid, pleasant tale Mastering Love plays out as expected.  It is Evan and Ned’s messed up romance that make this story worthwhile.

Another great installment to this series. As always, I love the 1920s setting and the recurrences of past characters. I'm ready for book 5 now!

The title of this book fits the story so well.  This couple truly has to “master love” before they attain their happy ever after.  One of the tools they employ to do this is “the contract.”  I very much enjoyed how it all came about and was used in this story.  I also enjoyed how this story included all of the other wonderful characters that I have met in the other books.  They all had a bit of a part in bringing this couple to a happy ending.  That is one of things I do enjoy about this kind of series, seeing all the previous characters, what they are doing and how they are getting along.  It is so fun.

It’s interesting how everything is starting to really connect in this series. Even though the story focuses on Evan and Ned, I did enjoy seeing how all the other boys are coming along. I really hope there is more to this series.

Another good entry in the series. I wasn't sure I would like Evan based on his part in what previously happened to Master Thomas, but I quickly felt for him and his situation. Ned, while clearly not a bad guy, did have me wanting to throttle him. Thanks to the setting of the 1920's, it was different seeing some things taken for granted in contemporary BDSM books, being seen by the members of the club for the first time ever. The sex scenes seemed less intense and there was a lot of focus on Evan trying to figure out what he really wanted out of a D/s relationship. Now if we could only get Francesco and Theodore's story!
