Where do I start? This book was such a delight for me! This book does not disappoint! Jack and Nick are best friends and more, but can they survive the backstabbing and selfish ways of Hollywood?  Thanks Morticia, for a series that focuses on the glam and glitz of '20s Hollywood, but also shows some of whats hiding in the shadows!

After picking it up once again (for the 3rd time) I realize Hollywood Bound is honestly one of my favorite books of all time. And only one of a handful out of 300 books I would reconsider re-reading any time! And with every time I just feel the excitement Jack and Nick must have experienced while reading Hollywood Bound. It brings me right back to my first time in Hollywood, being from some old boring middle sized city in Germany I was overwhelmed with the beauty of Hollywood and California, much like Jack I assume. I always had a thing for the 1920's and Hollywood / Southern California in particular, therefore the setting of this series totally does it for me. ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL :) I enjoyed Jack and Nick's rather rocky journey and I loved watching their love and friendship grow… Thank you Morticia. I love Nick & Jack to bits. They fill my heart with a lot of love, and pain and I love it.

Hollywood Bound was a beautifully written time period piece of an era infrequently discussed and a subject rarely broached.  Turmoil and intrigue were an integral part of the silent -film era story as Nick and Jack crossed the country from New York to the bright lights of Hollywood in search of a better life, a new start, and a chance for love.

Morticia Knight left me emotionally drained as I felt the depth of despair of the characters and their yearning to protect each other from Tinseltown. I shed a tear or two as their heart ache became mine. Kudos Ms. Knight for creating a world that I became emotionally invested in and fueling my desire to need more.

Nick had never been attracted to anyone before, let alone another man, his was a journey of self-discovery and the choices he made resulted in some major hits to his feelings of self-worth. Because this is the first real relationship either man has had, we get to play voyeur to some seriously hot and equally sweet sex scenes as they find out together what it means to be in love with another man. As the book drew to a close, it was easy to see how life in Hollywood was negatively impacting their relationship. Despite knowing what was coming, I wasn’t prepared for the heartbreak or the cliffhanger that Ms. Knight delivered. As this is only the first book in the series, one can only hope that Jack and Nick find happiness in the next installment.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author, but it won’t be my last! I don’t usually like stories from this old Hollywood era, but the picture Knight painted of the darker side of this time period just pulled me in. And when the personalities of Jack and Nick came together in the bedroom, oh my, it was sexy. Nick brings out the passionate and kinky side of Jack, while Jack brings out the tender and loving side of Nick.

Hollywood Bound had more than its share of complications.  Jake loves Nick, but Nick is straight.  Nick is engaged, but would rather never see is intended ever again.   And the pair have high aspirations, but the only way to pay their dues on that yellow-brick road to The Hollywood Dream will cost blood, love, and tiny bits of their futures.  At the end of the day, it all comes down to money—and the things they are willing to sell to keep their heads above water.  But complications be damned, Nick will sell his soul to keep Jake happy and safe.  And Jake, well, he’s finding that his dreams could cost more than he’s willing to give.

I have never read anything by Ms. Knight in the past, but you can be sure that I will read more from her in the future.

One thing that I enjoyed about the sexual relationship that forms between Jack and Nick is even though they take part in a BDSM relationship, it isn’t classified as that. They are both doing whatever they are comfortable with, and what they both enjoy. There weren’t any labels between them, they were just together because they wanted to be. Overall, I did completely enjoy the book and like I said earlier, I couldn’t wait to start reading the next books!

I really, really enjoyed this. I love darker romances, romances that feel real and that make you work for that glorious HEA. I was immediately enamored with Jack and I so want him to have it all. I want him to be able to stay his sweet, innocent self while still getting his dream. I just don't know if that's possible now. Maybe if Trixie were offed in book 2? Yeah, that might work.

There was lots of drama, lots of love and lots of heartache. Everything that I love. Don't look here for a sweet, historical romance set in the 1920s. You will not find that, what you'll find is a heartbreaking, gritty story of two guys trying to make it work all while making their dreams come true. Maybe you really can't have it all? We don't know yet.
