Chasing the King of the Mountains has everything needed for a spectacular story - friendship, love, passion, drama and triumph over adversity! The story brings together two men who have been friends for ten years. Pascal is a champion rider who is terribly injured in one of his last attempts to complete the Tour de France. Not only is he physically injured but he loses the opportunity to win the jersey he had been chasing, to win "King of the Mountain". He bravely decides to compete one last time which will be a tremendous challenge given his age and injuries. Laurent is not only his best friend but is a journalist. He believes that Pascal's story is inspiring and will be of great interest to many and so he and his film crew join Pascal to follow his progress as he tries to win King of the Mountain. Laurent has his own issues with a failing relationship. I loved the way both men handled themselves during this time and was very glad there was no cheating involved.Pascal acts as a true friend offering support. But eventually the way is paved for the men to be together. So, as Pascal pursues his dream of winning the jersey, Laurent chases his dream of winning Pascal. Drama, excitement, steamy sex as we follow the race to a happy ending. "While the jersey and title were his career's greatest achievement, his lifetime achievement was falling in love with Laurent, and being able to spend the rest of his retired life with the man." 4.5 stars

I liked this one. It was a feel good story that grabbed my heart. The authors gave me characters I easily connected with and gave me something to look forward to. This was my kind of story and I loved it. I recommend it to anyone looking for something strong and steady.

If you're a fan of cycling and the Tour de France, I would absolutely recommend this book to you. The authors did an amazing job of sharing tons of information about the race and the culture surrounding it in an understandable way.
